Attorney Profile
Robert S. Wayne began practicing law in 1979 after graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was the former Managing Editor of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. Wayne received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Performance from the University of Georgia in 1976. He spent two summers studying at the American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East.
Wayne practiced law for thirteen years in Atlanta, Georgia with the law firm of Schwall, Ruff and Goodman and, then later with its successor, the Law Offices Emory A. Schwall, where he remains listed of counsel. In 1992, he left to establish his solo practice in Decatur, Georgia where he has been engaged in the general law practice. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and the Atlanta Bar Association.
In addition to maintaining a busy legal practice, his wide-ranging interests have included history, art, and travel, as well as acting and performance in opera and musical theater. Wayne has performed with many theaters around Atlanta including, Theater of the Stars, the Atlanta Opera, Theater in the Square, Georgia Ensemble, Onstage Atlanta, Galaxy Music Theater, Neighborhood Playhouse, and the Atlanta Lyric Theater (formerly the Savoyards). He has appeared in opera productions as a guest artist with the University of Georgia and Kennesaw State University. He is a former member of the Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Wayne is also the author of two award-winning travel books, Venice In Context - The Independent Traveler's Guide to Venice, which was the winner of the 2003 Ben Franklin Silver Medal and was named ForeWord Magazine’s best new travel guide for 2003. His second book, Royal London In Context - The Independent Traveler's Guide to Royal London won the North American Travel Journalists Association's (NATJA's) first prize for 2004’s best in historical travel writing, and ForeWord Magazine’s Book of the Year award for best new travel guide for 2004. He lives in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur where he balances the demands of a busy attorney practice with extensive travel, writing and participating in local theater.
